Web design is often confused with Web development. In fact, they are two very different things. A designer creates the look and feel of the site using design software, often Photoshop and Illustrator, then the Web developer converts those designs into programming code for the Web.

Web Design Services
In our minds Web design is a very different animal than graphic design for print or other traditional media. A successful Web site must be designed to accomplish several objectives. The first objective is usability. Just like a good print or TV ad, a Web site must communicate to the targeted audience. If a user can't quickly and easily find the information they seek, the Web design has failed. But unlike traditional media, Web design must also accommodate the intended functionality which will be built out by the web developer. So it is important for a Web designer to have a good understanding of what is and isn't possible within the realm of Web development.
Finally, a Web designer needs to design for the different mediums through which the Web site may be experienced. There are numerous browsers and operating system configurations. What may look great on one could be a mess on another so a Web designer needs to have a good understanding of what equipment the visitors will be using to experience the Web site.
